We took the scenic walk around Bondi Beach
Me and the Wallaby!! Okay background story on the this photo. This little guy was trying to put his tail underneath him and he lost his balance and did a backwards somersault right as I was about to feed him a treat. The cutest clumsy animal I've ever seen.
So a few weeks ago the Santos Tour Down Under was held in "my backyard." The tour went through Adelaide, its suburbs and its beautiful, hilly countryside. A record 772,000 crowded on street corners waiving Aussie flags and cheering on the riders as they buzzed by in matter of seconds. Ours truly, Lance Armstrong raced with his UCI Pro tour team, Team RadioShack. In the video below his team's out in the lead and I swear he turned and looked at me. Armstrong did say that this would be his last time he would compete in the Tour and maybe the last international race of his career. Although that was before the Tour's winner was announced, Cameron Meyer of Western Australia, and he's my age-23! The headline's read, " 'Scrawny' star wins Santos Tour Down Under." I kind of felt sorry for the guy. I he clocked the fasted time of the tour beating out cycling greats and pros that have be riding since he was probably 13 and they still gave the 'lil guy' a hard time. Although I'm sure Meyer can take it; last year he was named Australian Cyclist of the Year. He also has a younger brother who is a pro cyclists as well; Travis Meyer, pretty cool huh.
Anyways I'll stop and you can watch the little clip I got of the race.
WARNING: It's a pretty short clip and afterwards you might be thinking "oh real cool." I promise it was way cooler actually being there. Also I got distracted watching them go by and didn't get a very good angle so hopefully you'll be able to pick out Lance : ).
